Sapphire Yellow, White, Green & Purple

Yellow or Golden  Sapphire are varieties of the mineral  corundum - their physical and chemical properties are virtually identical to those of Ruby. Yellow sapphires come in a wide range of tones and saturations from a light lemony to a rich  golden hue.  The most in-demand color tone is a medium vibrant canary yellow that will show good color and light reflection in all lighting conditions.

Yellow Sapphires come from  Sri Lanka (formerly known as Ceylon), Africa, and Madagascar.  Other countries such as Australia, Thailand and Burma do produce some yellow sapphires, but, in most cases, with heavy secondary color tones.

Yellow Sapphires are regarded as bearers of good fortune and believed to bring their owners success in their daily dealings.
